Taiwanese design magazine XFUNS have featured a small number of designers and illustrators showcasing their work on the themes of "First Time" and "New Year" including the likes of Peepshow's Andrew Rae and the KDU's David Gensler.
Last night was Noah & The Whale's Christmas Party at the beautiful Bush Hall in Shepards Bush. The event was packed with bands and performers from the rising scene displaying the talents of Johnny Flynn and the Sussex Wit, Jay Jay Pistolet and Slow Club (great wooden chair drumming)
Having first fallen in love with Noah & the Whale a year ago when they played Emmy the Great's night at the Luminaire it seems that in that short time they have accumulated a huge following and deservedly so. The entered the stage in matching red festive outfits brandishing helium balloons for the audience and left the crowd completely uplifted with their beautiful, perfectly balanced songs. I whole heartedly recommend you go see them play in 2008.
Highlight tracks -
1) Quietly the Earth 2) Rocks and Daggers 3) One Heart, Two Bodies

Fragiles by Die Gestalten at Design Miami December 6 – 9, 2007
The publishing monster that is Die Gestalen Verlag have hand picked a group of international artists and designers to exhibit in there show Fragiles at this years Miami Basel. Needless to say Die Gestalen have picked a range of incredibly beautiful work. My personal highlights are
1) The very talented Emily Forgot's Playground plates (pictured above). Sets of the plates will be for sale from the show in Miami but for all of those who can't make it there they can be bought individually or as a set from the Emily Forgot website here : www.emilyforgot.co.uk
2) The vases from NYC based design duo Commonwealth who only ever seem to be capable of producing work nothing short of incredible
The very talented and ever so slightly mysanthropic (in a charming way of course) Bob London is a person everybody should check out. His wide and varied portfolio displays and undoubted talent for draughtmanship and use of colour that cannot be ignored.
Bob was recently commisisoned by Carhart to produce a limited edition t-shirt. The small colleciton of illustrated tee's launched this week to a packed house and are available to buy directly from Carhart.
This is a face to watch out for - an almost always happy smiling face at that.
By the time Mr Bec graduated from Brighton Uni this year he had already formed If You Could with Will Hudson and put on two exhibitions with accompanying publications by work of some of the best image makers around. He now is under employment of the ever talented PeepshowCollective. If You Could 3 promises to be bigger and better than ever and who know what other surprises he has in the pockets of his short trousers.
This is the latest rendering of Wallpaper Magazine's contributers section from the talented Mr Melvin Galapon. To see more of his unique process and consistently well executed work go over to his site.
